Leading Metallurgist Nominated to the Board
Summary
We're welcoming the nomination of Marcus Binks to Aureka's Board, put forward by High Grade Holdings (HGH) as part of our acquisition of HGH's Victorian gold mine and mill assets, announced 7 September 2026. Marcus's appointment is expected to take effect on completion of that acquisition, which we expect in late October or early November 2026.
Marcus is a metallurgist with more than 30 years' experience building and running gold, base metal and mineral sands processing plants, including senior roles at the Fosterville and Young-Davidson gold mines. He helped establish and operate the Wedderburn Mill, which we're acquiring as part of the HGH transaction, and has spent the past 14 years consulting to companies including Agnico Eagle and Novo Resources.
For us, this matters because Wedderburn is central to the next phase of Aureka's story: taking on operation of one of only six licensed gold mills in Victoria, currently processing ore from the Fiddlers Creek mine with spare capacity for our own production. Marcus's hands-on experience commissioning and running plants like this is exactly the skill set we need as we move from exploration towards production.
Worth noting: this nomination and appointment are tied to completion of the broader HGH acquisition, so both remain conditional on that deal closing as expected.
